Do you know your purpose (aka your WHY) in life?
It’s ok if you don’t, I certainly had NO clue what my purpose was just a few years ago.
In fact, had you asked me what my “WHY” is in life just ten years ago I would have had no idea how to respond (I probably would have said my why is to make money because that is all I was focused on at the time).
Two Ways To Discover Your Why In Life
Although I’m certain there are numerous ways to discover your why in life, here are two that have proven to work in numerous books that I read during my journey to write, Fishing For Happiness.
- If you can answer this question, then you are getting really close to discovering your why: “If someone gave you ONE BILLION dollars and you could only use it to benefit your community, your country, or mankind, what would you do with the money?”
- Think back to when you were younger. What was the one thing you could get lost in because you were so focused on making it happen? What was something that you did that gave you so much pleasure even if you never made any money from it? Usually, it’s something that gives you more pleasure than almost anything else in life.
If you can define these two things, you’re WHY is close behind.
From what I’ve found and seen in life, once someone is pursuing their WHY, even though money is not the goal, it usually seems to follow just because we are so passionate about what we are doing.
